Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro to facilitate workshops with various stakeholders that include participatory research methods in collaborative knowledge production. Microsoft allows us to have an online environment in which to invite different stakeholders from industry and government, bring them together and easily note down ideas, hopes, and aspirations for desired future scenarios. This was particularly helpful in a Covid scenario where we could not facilitate physical workshops.

Pros

  • It allows for an innovative way to connect ideas from different stakeholders in a diagramming session.
  • It enables the same level of discussions to occur in an online space as in a physical space.
  • It provides the perfect environment for a storm raining session with the team.

Cons

  • Potential for people to split the workspace into rooms and work on different aspects in individual groups.
  • The team speaks connectivity integrated within Miro.
  • Ability to record brainstorming sessions and progression of diagramming to review by the team at a later stage.
  • Improved knowledge production with external stakeholders.
  • Reduced project completion time by 50% as we were able to access external partners in this online environment much more efficiently than inviting them to our offices physically.
  • Improved team productivity by 50% as all the information on the project was contained and shared on a single platform/board.
Super easy and user-friendly interface allows for an accessible environment for guests and other colleagues, allowing for impromptu brainstorming and knowledge creation sessions with the team and external stakeholders. The implementation of Miro is excellent and extremely helpful in a work-from-home environment where physical workshops and team discussions are impossible.
We were able to easily integrate Miro into our workflow for a participatory research project. Miro provided the platform for knowledge exchange and co-production with external stakeholders. The information gathered on the miro boards was easily exported and perfected for presentation in Adobe illustrator as the export to pdf option is a great format for reading different graphic software.
We were able to coordinate the team from different parts of Europe to work together and create an environment for online workshops with stakeholders from different parts of the UK including different businesses and government representatives. In a different project, we coordinated with a team in Brazil using the Miro board to formulate ideas and find solutions during an online researcher workshop.

Would you buy Miro again?

Miro allows for a much more user-friendly interface and its ability to co-create diagrams using sticky notes and connecting lines is much more intuitive and accessible to first-time users. Presentation-wise, Miro is much more graphically beautiful and presentable to external partners when working together on a project. It has a more formal look.
Miro is the perfect environment for online workshops for collaborative knowledge productions with different stakeholders. The space allows for diagramming and adding to it using virtual posted notes where everyone can add ideas and cooperate to find innovative solutions to problems. The interface is incredibly easy to work with and people who are less techy can engage with it easily, so it is very accessible.
