Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro for business, brand, and design strategy brainstorming. It enables our team, located in multiple countries around the world, to engage in conversations about ideas and concepts, build on each others' ideas, and organize the thoughts in a way that creates new insights simply from gathering and arranging the ideas. Personally I also use it solo simply to throw down my disorganized thoughts and organize them into themes, achieving similar insights to the way we use Miro as a group. It can help me not only find the bigger concepts in a group of ideas, it enables me to bring in other people and walk them through the work in progress.
I've also seen it used by colleagues as a sort of 'war room' spot where materials, questions, and ideas on a topic can be gathered and built upon asynchronously.

Pros

  • Facilitates group discussions around ideas.
  • Enables organization of small ideas into bigger concepts.
  • Allows easy walkthrough of material while still a work in progress.
  • Serves as a 'war room' for gathering data, images, etc. for asynchronous building on each others' ideas in a group.

Cons

  • Make corner radii size user-controllable instead of automatically scaled according to size of box.
  • Consider layers maybe, but many users may not need— keep simple for simple needs.
  • Improve locking/unlocking of objects, giving users more control and possibly easier ability to establish templates etc. that can be reused.
  • Better cross-functional idea generation and buy-in of new concepts.
  • Reduced travel costs and virus risk; less need to gather everyone in a room.
We use Miro to unite cross-functional team members in multiple countries through brainstorming/ideation sessions and conversations about the content we create together. Its easy, understandable design allows everyone to catch on quickly and contribute meaningfully without spending time learning the tool.
