Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro is used for collaborative work among students in the Information School at the University of Washington. It is used to enhance remote work as well as in-person work. Students learn how to use Miro as a tool widely used in the industry by completing deliverables using its different features, such as templates.

Pros

  • Easy to navigate the board.
  • Easy to organize the board.
  • Easy to collaborate.

Cons

  • Dashboard is unclear whether a board is visible to others or private.
  • The dashboard indicator of being in a team space is hard to distinguish depending on the color of the team icon.
  • Improved productivity.

When I first started using Miro, there did not seem to be a free version, so the accessibility of the product was my main concern. However, I believe there is a free version now available.
I believe Miro has a bit of a learning curve in terms of being able to use it to its full potential. However, it is very intuitive to use, especially if just for its basic sticky note and text features.
Miro has given my teams the ability to work together remotely in a very productive manner. It also allows teams to easily document their work. Because of this, it is also easy to share work with other teams.

Miro's controls feel easier to navigate, and it is easier to access other features such as templates. FigJam was more accessible due to being available for free accounts.
Miro is great for facilitating remote work, or even in-person work where laptops or other devices are available for each person. Miro is a great educational tool, and using it as a student helps me feel prepared to use it in the industry. It is great for documenting teamwork.
