Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro for student brainstorming as well as group work that I would like them to share with the class. In teaching, I've found that students often don't want to share ideas out loud and are much more comfortable sharing via writing/online methods since it's "anonymous." Miro has been great in addressing student participation and gathering questions.
  • Organization of ideas.
  • Inclusion of all organization members in work.
  • Easy tools for creating documents, visuals, etc.
  • Struggles with formatting of shapes and objects.
  • More template ideas.
  • Quicker functionality when collaborating. The program would sometimes lag.
  • Higher student response.
  • Higher quality conversation and group engagement.
  • Student work -- retention of knowledge and ideas.
One suggestion I would have is a better "quick guide" to using Miro. Many of the students I had entering Miro needed quite a bit of time to get used to the setup and figure out the controls. They weren't intuitive to use.
While implementing it into my class work to some time to get the students used to it, the actual integration of it into class felt very natural and easy to integrate. Having the shared links that any of my students could access made it very easy to get to the boards.
Miro has been a huge help when it comes to organizing ideas for projects with my students. I have seen many of the students accessing the board later after class, which lets them easily access the ideas they had for a project we were completing. It also allowed all of the students within our groups to actively share their ideas and commentary, not just the ones that were willing to speak up.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

I think that Miro is very well suited for environments when groups need to brainstorm together and share out loud with larger groups. Miro allows a function so that all can see different topics being worked on and collectively see all notes/ideas. I also think Miro is very well suited for planning out projects, who will do what items, and the current status of the work. A possible scenario where it's less appropriate is for the actual work being completed. I think it's great for notes, brainstorming, etc., but not for sharing actual pieces of work.
