We use Miro to effectively collaborate in a virtual environment for large programmes across the organisation.

The key problem Miro addresses is cross-country collaboration whist working virtually.

Pros

Simple, intuitive user interface
Easy for guest users to access
Large library of tools (e.g. diagrammatic aids, tables, icons)

Cons

System performance for very large Miro boards (e.g. time taken for board to load)
More colours available for post-it notes/shapes
Hard to think of any other areas for development to be honest!

Reduced project travel costs due to the ability to work effectively in a virtual environment.
Driven higher levels of engagement from stakeholders as they can actively participate throughout workshops when attending virtually.

We have used Miro to support a global IT development programme. It has greatly improved our ability to collaborate across multiple different countries whilst working virtually the majority of the time.

Miro enables stakeholders to actively participate throughout workshops and it helps create a sense of real teamwork, which can be extremely challenging when working virtually without Miro.

Extremely useful tool for project workshops with stakeholders who are widely geographically spread and need to attend virtually.

Enables workshop attendees/team members to add thoughts or comments both pre and post meeting. The board remains available indefinitely for people to refer back to which is helpful in comparison to physical boards.

Useful space to capture information for personal use or brainstorm information on your own, such as building stakeholder map or capturing org structures/process maps.

Miro is a fantastic online collaboration tool - I would highly recommend it to those working on global or virtual projects!
