Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro for my own brainstorming and collection of thoughts, so things like defining user problems, creating user flows, doing competitive analyses or heuristic evaluations, and affinity mapping. When I need to do group work, I also organize our work area in Miro, so for example if we are doing a workshop or a retro. I also use it for presentations in larger meetings, for example when I am presenting insights from my research.

Pros

  • Drawing up user and process flows
  • Enabling collaboration through comments, post-its, and stickers
  • Ease of use, it takes only seconds to go in and figure out how to do something

Cons

  • For more "advanced" tasks in Miro, figuring out how to do it can be challenging, for example, linking to somewhere on the page or using the timer
  • I'd really like to be able to easily bring my work from Miro into Figma
  • I honestly can't say for a fact that there has been an increased or decreased ROI because of using Miro.
I know we are able to integrate Miro into Teams, so that we are able to work collaboratively in a Teams call. However, I tried a couple times to do it and could not figure it out and pretty much gave up.
Miro is great for collaboration. Next to my independent work time, I use Miro the most with my coworkers in the design team, and they are all located in different countries. So really, without Miro it would be challenging to work collaboratively.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro definitely has more functionality. FigJam felt really limited and not as easy to use. So the only advantage that FigJam really has for me is being already in Figma and being able to easily move between my wireframes and user flows or notes in FigJam.
I like Miro the most for working on my own to brainstorm ideas. I bring in lots of information, such as screenshots, emails, links, plus use the shapes and post-its to write notes or draw up flows. I draft out text or begin to play with design elements on a screen shot. It's a great way to work iteratively at a low fidelity for maximum creativity.

I feel for presentations, Miro is a little less suited. There isn't the same professional feeling like with a powerpoint for some reason.
