Overall Satisfaction with Miro

- I use it for workshop facilitation or when attending workshops facilitated by others.
- Preparing the scope of my research - where I display step by step approach, including my session guides
- I once used Miro for a card sorting exercise - participants who didn't have previous experience in Miro found it relatively hard to interact with.
- I tried to use Miro for analysis but that doesn't work well for me because it's time-consuming and I tend to do qualitative analysis differently. I like to code my notes right in the document where I take them (e.g. Google Docs).
- I don't like Miro for presenting results - for me it's much easier to prepare a ppt presentation that to me even looks more professional.

Pros

  • Collaboration tool - it's easy to work together during a workshop
  • Easy to navigate in the boards
  • Pre-defined templates that ease up the work (e.g. when preparing a workshop)

Cons

  • When the board is too large - sometimes it gets frozen
  • I miss something that would easily tidy the board up - when there are more people collaborating, it gets really messy
  • I don't like that when inserting text box/post-its, it doesn't show me if it's aligned.
  • I don't have any of those data. The only thing I can provide: When doing a workshop remotely, it saves time and eases up the collaboration
  • Enables working remotely - when needing to work on something on a call at the same time
  • Minus: It adds more time when I need to find something in a large board I have recently been invited to.
I haven't integrated Miro with any other products.
That's the key reason why I even use Miro - I work remotely and I need to collaborate with people from time to time at the same time. Therefore we are able to do workshops, and have monthly retro - it's nice to see where people are with their work and some progress. It's easy to track the time, etc.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

No

I have experience working with the Figma board and that works much better for my needs - e.g. creating screeners for research or planning a research approach. I like tiny features that show that my text is aligned. The visual side of my writing and presenting is in my research job key.
Well suited: Workshops, collaborations, teamwork - some events when people need to work together remotely at the same time. It's nice to see where people are on the board and it's really good for the remote work environment.

Less appropriate: When storing e.g. insights or team information. With the increasing amount of information, it is more difficult to navigate and when people work asynchronously, that doesn't work for me.
