Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I mostly use miro in our sprint retrospective. I am the scrum master in my team. The board has allowed me to facilitate much more flexible retros, and the team has engaged well with it.

We use mostly stickies, arrows, tables, and the voting feature. Typically, I prepare some prompts on the board and lock them before the retro begins.

We typically use miro in hybrid meetings: half of the attendees are virtual, and half are physically present. Both virtual and physical attendees collaborate on the board during the meeting. I also present the board to a TV in our meeting room.

I also appreciate how easy it is to make something look good. Automatic arrow snaps and intuitive alignment are invaluable to me.

I have considered using miro in our standup. For this, I would rely on the Jira integration. We are using an old version of Jira server which I find clumsy. I think the flexibility of miro would be much more valuable as a scrum board in our standups. My main hesitation is that I would not want the miro board to become out of sync with Jira. In this instance, if something matches my Jira query, I want it to automatically appear on my Jira board. I am happy to juggle the tasks once they are visible on the board.
  • Realtime collaboration
  • Flexible, it works exactly as I want it to.
  • Intuitive, miro knows exactly what I want
  • Easy to make something visually stunning
  • Jira integration not continuously sync'ing
  • Can't lock stickies in a table
  • Planning poker doesn't support a custom scale
  • Improved engagement during meetings
  • Greater employee satisfaction
  • More reliable and stable completion of work
Miro has been a great tool for our online collaboration. We work hybrid, and most of our meetings have virtual and physical attendees. With Miro, everyone is able to contribute in realtime, and there has been a great engagement. I think it is even better than a real whiteboard in the room.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Jamboard is a bit flat compared with miro. It's a lot harder the make the board look how I want it to on jamboard. The feature set is less than miro, significantly. The real-time collaboration is not as fast (delayed).
Great for collaboration during meetings, has helped improve engagement in our retrospectives.
Great for ease of use and visually pleasing diagrams.
Great for working quickly, getting ideas down, and showing correlations.

Not great for bringing in live data. I would prefer to see a stronger link with Jira.
