Pros
- Collaborative brainstorming
- Communicating status & progress for in-process projects
- Design collaboration
- Refining concepts and hypotheses
- Planning and aligning dispersed teams on a common plan
Cons
- Sketching - should be easier to sketch or write on top of objects
- Locking objects onto a frame - there should be an explicit gesture that allows that instead of hoping that it has happened, looking for subtle visual cues
- Highlighting an object (especially a post-it) without the full format bar which blocks other nearby objects. Makes it hard to present.
- Better slide templates and easier export to and import from PPT
- Improved productivity for product discovery and design teams
This is where Miro really shines. We have offshore teams and completely remote resources in general. The whiteboard has been critical to get from unstructured concepts to defined projects.
This has been especially valuable in the collaboration between design, product and engineering.
