Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro for design, product, and research planning workshops. We often generate early concepts, rank jobs to be done, and create mind maps using different templates in Miro.
Pros
- Exporting partial and complete Miro boards in multiple formats makes it easy to integrate Miro work in other organizational documents.
- Miro has great templates available that are simple to adapt to a variety of business cases at a variety of companies. I can almost always find something pretty close to what I would have built from scratch.
- Live viewing of collaborator updates works very well. Updates appear immediately and group activities happen smoothly without any lag issues for individuals.
Cons
- My company uses Miro for so many different topics, but many of the board titles are similar. We desperately need an organization system (folders or groups of some kind) that allow us to find older boards. Depending on the search bar is not enough, when we often can't remember the specific title or author, just the topic area.
- I would like to see suggested color palettes available that are more neutral. I feel eye fatigue sometimes from viewing so many bright colors on screens all day.
- We were able to run 8 workshops last quarter with less than 2 hours of prep time each. This is greatly improved from the multiple days of planning it has required under other circumstances.
- We are able to complete qualitative research analysis in a couple days instead of a couple weeks, using Miro templates for affinity mapping and insight summaries.
Miro has allowed immediate access to historical project info and current ideation. This is huge for teams that aren't able to work in-office and get each other up to speed in more casual ways. Many folks at my organization live in different time zones as well, which means we can collaborate but at different times.

- Lucidchart and AIFlow CRM
Miro is much easier to use than these competitor products. I imagine they would be more powerful for specific use cases, but Miro is at least good enough for pretty much everything we do. Everyone at our company is extremely busy, so training people on a new product can be an astronomical task. With Miro, leadership hosted a few training sessions but they were more than enough and everyone is proficient with this. Had we used something like Lucidchart, I think we'd see less utilization because folks wouldn't be as confident with the more complex interface.
