Overall Satisfaction with Miro

My team utilizes Miro for a variety of use cases such as:
- Retrospectives
- Brainstorming
- Ice breakers & Team Events
- Standardized Templates
- Planning & Organizing
- OKRs, Goals, etc.
Miro does a wonderful job of enhancing virtual collaboration and making meetings both productive and fun. Some of the community templates are creative and easy to use.

Pros

  • process mapping across various systems and audiences
  • virtual cross collaboration through sticky notes, voting and talk track features
  • user story mapping and persona definitions

Cons

  • auto sign out and single sign on could be improved. so many times I am working in Miro and other systems simultaneously and constantly have to re-authenticate in Miro.
  • board history and versioning - sometimes when a lot of people are in a board people can accidentally override each other and it can be difficult to revert back to a version that contains the needed information.
  • integration to other apps - it'd like to see Miro integrate into other apps, particularly project planning software and workboard in order to better visualize key project activities.
  • saves time by allowing us to make quick decision making through the use of the voting feature and comments.
  • quicker turn around on leadership updates - Miro can be used in leadership status updates to show where projects are and where things are going
  • increases collaboration between teams - as a virtual team this tool makes it easier to make decisions together, across different timezones
It has been a valuable asset in increasing virtual collaboration. We use Miro across various projects and initiatives with users across all levels of the organization. We utilize features like voting, commenting, sticky notes, and tagging to unite the team towards a common focus. Overall, Miro has been helpful for the team.
There are some areas where I really prefer lucidchart - particularly around complex ERDs, process engineering, and impact assessments. lucidchart's integration options and exporting options are all more thorough than Miro. However, Miro is a far superior tool when comparing it to Jamboard. Miro is both more interactive and engaging than Jamboard.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is a great tool for ice breakers, retrospectives, and cross-team virtual collaboration.
My team uses an agile, sprint methodology that includes end of sprint and monthly retrospectives. After trying various retrospective processes I have found that Miro is both the best tool and approach for my team. It allows us to add retro comments independently and as a team during our retro calls. The voting feature allows us to make quick decisions easily.
