Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Miro is in wide spread use throughout our organization. For the most part it is being used as a white board online collaboration tool. I find it easy to mock up product plans, throw in some ad-how designs, and even create high level functional diagrams for workflows or a product idea. Where it excels is in allowing the integrated collaboration for multiple users to work off the same board and share ideas in real time.
Pros
- Online white board solution
- Enables collaboration for remote product, design, and development teams
- Presentation platform
Cons
- Onboarding - A first time user will have some learning curve in understanding all the features
- Managing free versus paid version offerings better
- Expand offline feature capabilities and connectors to relevant platforms
- Miro allows you to speed up product prototypes and eventual product releases
- Serves as a simple middle man application in product management teams to help drive efficiency
- Bridges the gap of technical, design, and development resources with easy to use controls and functions
In our product management group, we live in Miro most of the day. It helps us drive idea sessions, and eventual extract into a product requirement and technical design. The ability to collaborate with teams that are remote by utilizing IM style tools is great but having Miro access and being able to share designs and boards while prompting for real time feedback within the tool itself really helps you speed up product development.
Miro is much easier to use, and in my opinion focuses on product teams usage from a visual collaboration perspective in building out ideas and helping them come to life. When we look at Figma the primary driver is design focused for designers in your organization. Figma is better suited as a prototyping tool rather than a full featured collaboration, design, and board tool.
