Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro is used across all points of our Design Research and customer feedback teams, from planning, ideation, note taking, affinity mapping, and synthesis. It's the shared platform we use to communicate and capture all steps of the process. Miro allows both synchronous and asynchronous collaboration through the persistent board, and as a reference for prior projects to learn the approach and outcomes.

Pros

  • Brainstorming
  • Data capture
  • Idea synthesis
  • Project retros

Cons

  • Mobile collaboration
  • Onboarding
  • Improves collaboration over remote work
  • Captures notes visually from meetings
  • Brainstorming partner on new processes
Getting integrated with SSO is key for adoption. Being able to sign in using existing processes makes it faster to get going with new ideas. Having templates and tools for teams to start using right aways helps everyone feel more creative and engaged in the process.
Miro gives us the ability to have everyone's voice heard in the ideation process. By using a collaborative online whiteboard, we structure sessions with brainwriting to start, so everyone is on an equal footing. By starting with writing, nobody dominates the conversation. Then we have the moderator go through and share ideas so people can add context and depth. Then, everything is already captured and well on it's way to affinitization and sense-making.
Miro is the fastest and easiest whiteboard app I've used. To me, the most important aspect is how easily and quickly can novice users begin to interact and add ideas, and Miro has won every time. Other vendors navigation and capabilities fall short of what's offered in Miro.
