Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use it for focusing the team for kickoffs, we keep track of our management structure, consensus building, and product roadmap documentation. My favorite use has been to storyboard short videos collectively, it's been fun and intuitive to build and share with the team.

Pros

  • group consensus
  • touring a team across lots of content (follow feature)
  • interactive brainstorming

Cons

  • adding a new user for a single session, easy the first time, hard the second (good opportunity maybe for day pass purchase)
  • links open browser not the standalone app (good to give standalone priority if installed)
  • has made kickoffs on new projects very efficient and effective
  • deadlines and progress for clients and team have been very successful
Miro is a very easy application to understand, intuitive and natural. I find even bringing a team into it for the first time, the majority of folks just get it. That allows us to dig into productive conversation and get down to business quicker.
Templates have been key for quick adoption and exercises with my teams. To get the skeleton of a project flow, or calendar makes prep work quick and fast.

Being able to share my view with the team is fun and convenient, especially with large canvases of content.

Emoting is a new feature to me, a feature I've introduced to the team - and it's fun to get interactive responses/feedback that don't complicate the my agenda.
I have used Miro for scheduling projects and managing tasks, a process I'm used to using spreadsheets or calendaring apps for. While it's not a Jira replacement Miro has been the place I start a new project with to easily and quickly build out a calendar, see what tasks happen when and then use that as the building blocks/map for a more dedicated tracking solution like Airtable or Jira.
I have integrated google docs into a few miro boards, and the process was simple. It allowed me to link a few docs in relevant miro boards for easy reference and access.
I haven't used the online whiteboard feature yet, only the spaces we've created.
We use a service called SyncSketch to make notes on videos. It's specifically created for synchronized playback of video files with the ability to annotate and draw on a specific frame.

Using Miro

  • Brianstorming
  • Project Planning
  • Consensus Building
  • I created a build your own concept, creating a library of images that a team could easily grab and build little scenes with, quickly prototyping concept art.
  • brainstorm with external vendors using whiteboards
