Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Ideation, brainstorming, presentation, diagramming, reflection. These are the kind of activities that we use Miro for in a team. We are a team that develops and advises on AI related matters for government. We use Miro boards to make plans for the upcoming weeks, reflect on how we are doing as a team (using sticky notes and clustering them) and to quickly sketch out ideas or diagrams to explain certain concepts. Myself I also use Miro to make presentations that look good, or to lead brainstorm meetings, for example using the voting features.

Pros

  • Quickly create and adjust shapes and get you going on a diagram
  • Making multiple sticky notes and voting
  • Real time collaboration in a board

Cons

  • The permission system per board/project for teams/users/guests/private is hard to grasp and implement. Could be far more intuitive I think.
  • More text editing features inside a text-shape.
  • More integration with webex.
  • Reduced time when doing reflection in a team
  • Happier people when giving workshops or doing brainstorms
  • Faster ideation when sketching out ideas
You can integrate Miro with a lot of apps, and I have used some. But it takes some time sorting it out. Both understanding that it *can* integrate, to finding out what features there are and what apps it can integrate with, to the eventual pairing and combining the features of different apps and integrations usefully.
Ideation, brainstorming, presentation, diagramming, reflection.

These are all really important use cases that come into play when starting new projects. I work as a tech consultant so start a lot of new projects all the time. Miro is a nice way to get me organised in my ideas and concepts, and keep track of them. I can quickly switch between boards and zoom into something I want to run by someone quickly.
Besides, Notion and Mattermost, I also use Arc browser.
Miro is very useful for sketching ideas, concepts, presenting, brainstorming. I use Arc as a really nice powerful browser and organisation of tabs, Mattermost for communication within teams, and Notion for note-taking. All these apps give me the same kind of feeling of getting things done quickly, and are well equipped with features, such as syncing!

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

What I think can be improved is the way the permission system works. I think it could be far more intuitive to create teams, projects, permission groups. I find it quite hard still to grasp and adjust who can access which boards.
