I'd be lost without Miro!
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Miro is one of the most versatile tools that I use. It can be used as a personal playground to jot down ideas and brainstorm, as well as to run workshops, planning sessions, and presentations. With so many tools like Jira being so delivery-focused, I find Miro a great place that creates the opportunity for collaboration and open-ended thinking. This is especially true in the discovery and planning phases, where ideas are not yet clearly formed.
Pros
- Real-time collaboration between many users.
- Flexibility in approaching your work, near limitless ways to structure information to achieve your purpose.
- There are so many handy tools/templates that remove the upfront effort of coming up with ideas for running sessions or presenting information.
Cons
- The AI tools have so much potential but are really in their infancy right now.
- Automatic formatting suggestions based on what I am creating would be awesome. A new way to inspire ways to visualize my work.
- Miro saves me at least 20% effort when planning in the early stages. I'm not bogged down with filling out each field and can easily form and modify initiatives as they come up.
- It has also reduced our quarterly planning days to 1 day rather than 2 when using Jira.
My team is nearly exclusively remote. Miro is basically the only way that we can all collaborate and share the same space. In fact, even in physical meetings, people have become so dependent on Miro that we also use it because no one wants to relay information from sticky notes, etc., into an online workspace for ongoing interaction after the meeting.
