Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Use Miro in almost every part of the process and operation. Planning, creating briefs, having brainstorming sessions as if Miro is a telecommunication tool, having a meeting that requires visual aids, providing feedback, and collecting references. Miro made Asynchrony collaboration possible for remote workers. Scope of my use case is vast, from planning to providing feedback using various visual tools that Miro features.
Pros
- Visualize the complicated planning and add detailed explanations.
- Creating creative briefs and providing feedback.
- Brainstorming. Perfect for virtual brainstorming.
Cons
- I wish there were a way to upload/post video references, even in a limited way.
- Some sort of data tracking tools, something like a light version of Excel, can be built in.
- I hope there is a way to handle more objects per page.
- Some of the snapping functions of the arrow can be annoying sometimes. I want to point to a specific part of the image, then the snapping feature always snaps an arrow to the edge of the image.
- Provide the overall clarity of the task, sometimes the product itself.
- Being able to add clarity to tasks with context.
- Improving productivity and making the process fun.
Yes, tremendously. In some areas, it will be difficult to operate without Miro nowadays. Not just with remote workers, Miro has many good features that make asynchronous working environments possible. It has become a great tool for connecting people in different places and at different times. Miro helps to organize the time management side as well. I can go through 7 - 8 different Miro boards to catch up in the morning and plan what to do in what order based on updates on Miro overnight. Especially for a new project, Miro is a great tool for brainstorming, ideating, and then collecting all those thoughts and ideas and consolidating them into one location for team members. Also, a great way to review the history of operation and business. I often add links to other Miro boards, and sometimes specific frames are used in other Miro boards to refer to other related boards conveniently.
Honestly, I tried Microsoft Whiteboard because it is a part of the 365 package, meaning it is free. I would say it can be my choice as a Miro alternative because it is a part of the 365 echo system. I think it would take time to get used to switching from Miro. I have used Miro for almost 7 years, and its features and usefulness are great. Great UI. Performance is pretty consistent overall. However, I was not a big fan of the latest update. I think the menu is getting a bit cluttered, but it is still working well for my use. The only major complaint I have against other similar products is that Miro's performance drops too quickly when boards have too many objects. Adding some warning messages would be nice. Hey, user, you are currently using 80% of board optima capacity. Something like that?
