Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro primarily for brainstorming and collaboration. Whenever a new idea comes up, our first instinct is, "Let's start a Miro Board". When two more more people are working on a presentation, it is easier to have one Miro board and work asynchronously on it. Miro's easy to use and intuitive interface makes it easier to create decks, and the option to export them as PDFs simplifies sharing with stakeholders.

Pros

  • Real time collaboration and brainstorming, especially when teams are distributed globally
  • A wide range of customizable templates
  • Miro AI- especially to summarize points or generate documents

Cons

  • Frame navigation- Miro doesnt automatically arrange frames in order. Thi can be a pain point, especially when you are working with large decks
  • As boards grow larger, there seems to be a lag in opening the board.
  • Limited offline access of boards
  • Frames/Decks could have animations, just like in powerpoint
  • It is difficult to import videos
  • We have a Kanban Board on Miro which helps to track progress and offers better visibility
  • It has replaced long email threads and scattered notes with something more organized and easy to access
  • It has led to accelerated decision making, especially when Product Managers are able to prioritize insights from the UX Research team
  • Improved cross-functional communication across UX, Engineering and Product management
Although Miro has a somewhat steep elarning curve, once you;ve mastered it, it is easier to use.
There are some elements that are not intuitive- eg icons for frames and shapes. Similarly, users tend to accidentally create layers which can lead to usability issues.
Sticky notes and an infinte canvas allows for capturing quick feedback Frames and presentation mode - helpful for structing and delivering content Template library for quick and easy sessions- mind maps, retrospectives, presentation templates etc Commenting and mentions for offline collaboration. Free hand drawing for low fidelity prototypes Tables and grids for structuring data better
Yes, we rely less on FigJam and PowerPoint. All brainstorming discussions and presentations are now done through Miro. This has led to a more streamlined process and reduced dependency on other tools.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is well suited for initial brainstorming and creating prototypes. It is useful for tracking progress and retrospectives, especially because of the templates that are readily available. It might be less appropriate for creating and sharing presentations- It definitely lacks the features of MS PowerPoint - such as animations and transitions
