Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I am an Agile lead and use Miro for many activities. Easily building out process flows in real time with global teammates allows us to visualize systems of workflows and identify areas of opportunity for improvement. I also use Miro's Kanban for work tracking, slides feature for presenting, and the blank canvas to prepare for facilitating workshops.

Pros

  • A platform for visualizing concepts allows people with different ways of thinking to grasp a concept and build upon it. Visualization is the crux of innovation.
  • The foundational features of sticky notes, voting, and time boxing are simple but powerful in moving topics forward in meetings settings in a clean and quick manner.
  • Miroverse offers many ideas to help you get started with templates no matter what you need to accomplish. This is great when you work faster with a starting point.

Cons

  • Miro can have heavy URL load times.
  • I would love to have some kind of dashboard within Miro to bookmark working Miro boards. I often find that I have many Miro tabs open and get lost between my many projects.
  • I would also love to have some default fames and elements that are saved for every time I create a new board that saves a style that I design in.
  • In real time during meetings Miro's Kanban offers a lightweight option to jot down tasks that need to be done so that teams do not have to rely on personal desk notes. This brings accountability and often find that work is complete faster.
Even for people opening Miro for the first time, I have give a quick 15 second 'lay of the land' and we can get the meeting started.
It is very helpful to upload or link existing documents into Miro. This gives a true one platform location to explain docs and offer access points. It is like printing off all the resources needed for a conversation and laying them out on the table.
It is helpful to link other documents, however due to my organizations shared drives it would take a huge effort for Miro to replace our usage of google docs and sheets.
