Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Normally we use Miro for Project Plans Design, Retrospective and also creating architectural diagrams. However, since last year when we came to know Miro's integration with Confluence, it made our life a lot easy now because, now all the designs & architectural diagrams that were created on Miro are directly embedded on our runbooks and we don't need to create them separately on Draw.io. In addition to that, for retrospective we're also using Kanban board to keep track of improvements we're coming up within the team internally. Lately we're also seeing option of planning poker which definitely adds value to the Miro board specially during Quarterly Plannings, Sprint Planning as well as Program increments. Miro is constantly providing regular updates to the UI hence it is able to fit our business need quite efficiently.

Pros

  • Provides inbuilt templates for Planning/Retrospective Boards
  • Collaboration of multiple users live on the same board
  • Regular feature updates and increasing compatible app synchronizations
  • Embedding into multiple platforms where runbooks documentation is required

Cons

  • I'd like to see tabs on the Miro board to juggle easily between the multiple diagrams with ease
  • Would love to see more templates on setting up polls
  • AI agent to assist in the designing part on the board itself
  • It helped in process improvement
  • Increased feedbacks from the team respecting anonymity
  • Shared collaboration helped improve overall teams' productivity
It's quite flexible and easy to use tool, I did not find it challenging at all, due to user friendly interface, introductory instructions, regular updates, availability of templates for different cases, and cross team collaboration. In addition to this when I pasted the URL of our Miro boards to confluence I could see the boards fully flexible with proper dimensions into the page embedded which helps the readers without the need of sharing the edit access inside Miro UI.
Mainly the templates, there are wide range & variety of inbuilt templates which can be altered according to the business needs and this saves a lot of time in starting the work from scratch, and with the new feature updates and introduction of AI, this will take the Miro board into a totally different dimension. I even loved the option of background music inside the board which potentially improves the thought process during brain storming sessions.
We were previously using draw.io and find the right shapes, sizing and creating architectural diagrams was always challenging, plus there was limited amount of design templates while after we switched to Miro, it has become more efficient and user friendly. This has increased the throughput of our engineers to easily create and share the design documents to the internal teams.
  • draw.io
  • Whiteboard.chat
  • Microsoft 365
Miro Provides secure environment with efficient provision to collaborate internally for the product and ops teams. We selected Miro due to its wide range of design templates, features for cross team sharing/collaboration as well as a very easy to use UI. Overall, this product fulfills our business needs quite efficiently and with regular updates to the product we're leveraging the new features actively during our agile ceremonies.

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is perfect for architectural designing, brainstorming sessions, project planning, sprint planning/retro. We are a kanban team and we use the board to draft the improvements we encounter bi-weekly. While Miro is not a Business Intelligence tool hence KPI reporting although looks perfect but is not appropriate as it may require live stream data. Neither it can be assumed to be the tool for monitoring of IT Infrastructure resources.
