Overall Satisfaction with Miro
we have a few use cases with Miro:
1. Our end to end architecture drawings are being drawn up in Miro. These include of applications that are on-premise and in the cloud. These helps us navigate what's the current situation and what can be done to improve upon in the future.
2. With-in the application there are a lot of complexities with connectivity and communications, therefore we have drawings of Kubernetes cluster and all of it's services that are available to get clarity of what is inside the application.

3. We have events like Quarterly plannings or Hackathon in which Miro is used heavily!
- Quarterly plannings takes place 4 times a year and we plan out the next 3 months for around 6 teams. we plan out the work in a big board which also highlights the internal dependencies within the team that is required.
- Hackathon takes place roughly twice a year. Miro is used to gather all types of ideas from everyone in the department and then approval process takes place to show which was approved and not and their reasonings behind it for future events.
Pros
- gives flexibility in having various architecture drawings within one board. This helps in knowing what was the old and what is new and what can be the future
- Different boards for quarterly planning allows us to know a template of what to follow and what processes can be improved upon from the last board
- having multiple people on the same board and follow the presenter along by using the bring everyone to hear button. Very useful for remote meetings!!
Cons
- when choosing icons for drawing architectures, sometimes its tough to find the right icon suitable for the diagram. not easy to point out what cloud storage icon is for GCP as an example
- the arrows used to connect two boxes can be a bit more thicker and bigger. its tough to follow along unless it is really zoomed in
- when a new frame is being made, would be nice info to have on what date was the last edit made and who owns/changed it.
- Team efficiency has definitely increased since now new team members understand our technical drawings much better and the fact they can be found in all one place.
- Highlights various project delivery updates as we use it for quarterly plannings and there we can see what blockers are etc.
- it increases the productivity overall as everyone in the team can access the board and update things accordingly and then email is sent out to people who follow the board
Presenter mode --> helps in virtual meetings to follow along and bring everyone to one page.
Frames --> making drawings or any sort of updates in a frame helps in sharing a unique link of that frame to someone else. That way they don't have to get the link of the board as a whole but the frame where it's required to have attention

I don't think it has affected us that much. we have other tools like Jira and Confluence that are also as important to have.
