Overall Satisfaction with Miro
In my organization, we are currently using Miro to create data system architecture diagrams. We are trying to catalog the current systems and assets we are managing while tying them to different value streams. Miro is providing a collaborative freeform environment to create consistent diagrams that can be shared across our team while looking professional and maintaining velocity.
Pros
- There are lots of templates, tools, and integrations offered.
- There are quality training and academy resources available that made it easy for me to start learning the product.
- The interface isn't overburdened with buttons or clutter, so it's easier to focus on the canvas.
Cons
- Sometimes permissions and the accompanying hierarchy can make it hard to know what kind of access someone has to a canvas or workspace.
- The home dashboard can be confusing to understand how things are organized and what I should expect to see there.
- It's difficult to scroll through the training tutorials. There was a lot of lag after I scrolled.
- Miro has reduced the time to delivery for initiatives that guide the business strategically. This allows us to create more impactful projects with confidence.
- Miro has allowed us to improve sprints and project delivery by enabling productive retrospectives where everyone's voice can be heard and we can consolidate our ideas for improvement.
The collaboration and sharing of canvases have been very impactful in the day-to-day. I can see updates of who is working on what in a canvas, and when a board needs to be discussed we can work on it in real time. The templates and diagram features are also helpful because that is most of the work I've been doing recently, and those features allow me to get started quickly.
Miro ideally would allow me to create a variety of different content in different mediums in one tool. However, it's not widely adopted by my organization, so things still need to be shared with more common enterprise tools that other people are more familiar. Miro has been more of an additional tool than a replacement.
