Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro to perform various tasks related to medical device design and development for our clients. Specifically, we use Miro to capture user workflows, device data flows, state diagrams, product architectures, device and packaging configurations. We also use Miro for other purposes where capturing steps in a process or relationships and interfaces between the parts of a system or subsystem are important.

Pros

  • Workflow diagram
  • State diagram
  • Architecture diagram
  • Use case diagram

Cons

  • Mouse controls take some getting use to
  • Could support more symbols and icons
  • More effective AI integration
  • Reduced time spent creating diagrams and associated documentation
  • Faster team communication and alignment on workflows and product architectures related to medical device projects
  • More effective brainstorming of solutions with internal team and clients
Overall, Miro is fairly easy to use and intuitive. It is easy to come up to speed on it and be able to create useful diagrams quickly, without much of a learning curve. The mouse controls, however, do take some getting used to (specifically, things like panning across the screen and zooming in/out).
The diagramming features of Miro have been most useful in our daily work. Specifically, use case workflows, fishbone (cause and effect) diagrams, flowcharts, and block diagrams.
Yes, Miro has reduced the need for separate diagramming tools. Although we still have access to some of those tools, it is nice to be able to rely on a single platform for all of our diagramming needs. For non-diagramming tasks, we typically use other purpose-built tools for those tasks.
I have also used LucidChart and Microsoft Visio for diagramming. I find Miro to be superior to these other options because it comes with such a wide variety of built-in templates, is more visually appealing, and allows quicker creation of diagrams.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

We have found Miro to be a useful tool for a variety of tasks commonly faced during medical device design and conceptualization. Specifically, Miro has worked well for capturing user workflows, device data flows, state diagrams, product architectures, and device and packaging configurations. We have also used Miro effectively to capture the steps in a process as well as relationships and interfaces between the parts of a system or subsystem.
