Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro as both an Application Consultant and a Scrum Master. In both cases, the primary use case has been to design flows, either process flows or technical designs. Alternate uses are for Retrospectives, where the collab options like emojis, timers, private modes and Miro regulars like shapes, frames and post-its make it fun to make and run retros. We do use it occasionally for PI Planning overviews as well.

Pros

  • Multi-user collaborations in the same view, ability to direct users to required content
  • Frame slideshows make it a very good Powerpoint alternate
  • Integration with Azure DevOps (for me) to manage work items interactively
  • Sharing & duplicating template boards across our organisation
  • Hiding/Unhiding frames

Cons

  • Integration with GitHub Projects to view issues (similar to ADO)
  • Hidden frames which can be actually 'hidden' in collaborator views
  • Miro AI being a little more open for use (some free features, for example)
  • Miro paid licensing to be a little less costly, OR pay-per-feature (if that even exists)
  • Definitely team satisfaction, when using new features and collaboration
  • Efficient in coming up with brainstorm/mindmapping faster than other means
I think most people tend to use just a small fraction of what Miro is capable - so a lot more user information/knowledge/awareness could help greatly
Azure DevOps (Boards) integration
PI Planning and Retrospective templates
Integration with Draw.io to make diagrams and flows
Including AWS custom shapes
We use Azure Devops for task management and planning - something which Miro can also do with the Boards integration. So we alternate between both tools to make it different each PI Planning.
Miro can help with PI Planning and Retrospectives, similar to ADO, but offers more collaboration and interactivity.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

I think its best suited for group collaborations and brain-storming
Less suited for standalone documentation, as it doesnt seem to have any version-controlling
