Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Remote collaboration benefits from an office-like environment where whiteboards and post-its are readily available to bounce ideas around. Miro provides a good remote whiteboarding experience for efficient collaborations. And its integration with Google Meet speeds it up even further. It is great to be able to capture ideas easily virtually in a free form.

Pros

  • Remote whiteboarding
  • Features like voting
  • Efficient video conferencing integration

Cons

  • In a large organization, it is impossible to find the right board
  • Even in the right board, it is still impossible to find the needed information
  • Still some learning-curve for team members
  • Remote ideation
  • Efficient sketching at video conferencing
  • Visual embeds into text based documents
Observed that for many first time users, there is still a learning curve of how to use such a virtual whiteboard, while in a physical space, no one would not dare to sketch or stick a post-it onto a physical whiteboard. When this learning curve is further reduced, it may make virtual whiteboarding a natural part of daily works.
The endless free form whiteboard that includes various way to post thoughts and knowledge.
The large amount of templates also help new joiners to get started onto different tasks like project planning or team retrospective. The wide variance of templates help people get comfortable using Miro as a creative tool.
Not really. Miro is a unique virtual whiteboarding tool that it does not overlap much with other existing tools, nor other existing tools would be able to replicate what Miro achieves in terms of whiteboarding virtually.
The wide selection of tools does help Miro win over some other simpler (lack of functionality) whiteboarding tools.
  • Excalidraw+
The abundance of tools available for any work needed including but not limited to tasks like interfaces sketching, post-its organization, virtual workshoping. With the wide selection of templates, many such tasks are just one click away versus other tools where the users need to sketch everything from the ground up.

- Generally any offline experience that usually involves using post-its
