Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro for architectural diagrams, team sprint retros, virtual white boarding, and idea tracking. It's common for individual contributors to have individual boards as well as a common board for the team for specific use cases. In some instances, we will also use Miro for mock-ups for our user interfaces for our web applications.
Pros
- I love that Miro provides searchable templates for different types of things you can do
- Miro makes it easy for me to create an application flow and to show how applications work together
- Miro makes it easy for my team to collaborate on ideas, or handle ceremonies, like sprint retros.
Cons
- I have found it difficult at times to export boards, or sections of boards.
- We use sticky notes quite often. It would be nice to be able to set an image as a sticky note. For example, if we are doing a themed team retro, it might be nice to have the sticky notes look like pumpkins or something else appropriate to the theme.
- When I am trying to select multiple objects on a board, I frequently have trouble selecting just the things I want. It can be finicky when things are close together.
- Miro makes it simple for my team to collaborate and share ideas.
I love the templates feature. I'm not the most creative person in the world, so being able to click a button, search for the type of thing I'm trying to make, and see multiple examples is fantastic.
The flexibility of Miro means that, instead of using tool A for one task, and tool B for another task, and tool C for another task, we can handle multiple different things in the same place. It makes it easier to have a single landing spot for these things. The ease that I can create a new private board means that it's easy for me to have a place to craft my own ideas before I present them to the larger group.
I think Miro is much more feature rich and flexible.
