Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

  • Time saving.
  • Employee adoption.
  • Information organization.
I worked at a Makerspace (student fabrication space) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I was part of the team that managed the facility and provided services to users (students and faculty). When we first opened, we used Google Sheets to track everything from machine maintenance to hiring staff. After about a year of opening, these spreadsheets became too large and impossible to manage efficiently.

We discovered monday.com and after a free trial, we were sold. monday.com allowed us to streamline administrative record-keeping and made it much more enjoyable. It also really helped us stay on top of routine maintenance of our equipment and keep all of the applicable information associated with an asset in one place. One huge help was the ability to attach photos and files. There isn't an intuitive way to do something like this in Google Sheets.

Overall, monday.com allowed the UW Makerspace to track vast amounts of information that was necessary to keep the place running efficiently.
  • Organization.
  • Intuitive.
  • Collaboration.
  • Planning & scheduling.
  • Recurring tasks.
  • A bit pricey.
  • A bit of a learning curve.
  • Archiving/preservation of data is difficult.
monday.com is very useable. The UX is fantastic and makes it enjoyable to use. It is also very easy to customize it to fit your needs. The templates are a great start if you are doing a generic thing, but with minimal effort, you can really tailor it for your own needs. After 2 years of using it, our monday.com didn't look anything like the templates.
I cannot comment on this matter. In the years I've used monday.com, I've never had to contact customer support, and the tutorials and tutorial videos they include have been plenty sufficient. However, my hunch would be that their support would be great given the resources they have on their website.
I've never had issues with reliability or uptime. And by never, I mean never.

Do you think monday.com delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with monday.com's feature set?

Yes

Did monday.com live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of monday.com go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy monday.com again?

Yes

When you need to keep a team on the same page when there are a lot of moving pieces. It really helped keep people informed when their shifts didn't overlap. Not good for calculations, it's not a spreadsheet. But if you are using a spreadsheet to keep track of information (not numbers), monday.com is a great solution.
