Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

I use monday.com for my job to track progress on vendor contracts, manage task lists for various projects, and document employees' progress and growth. My company is merging with a larger organization and so at this moment, we do not all have access to the same internal drives hosting our files. monday.com allows us to share data and files in one place that everyone can access. We use monday.com to track progress against vendor contracts and the interphase of the website is really user-friendly and accessible to all project members.
  • Notification preferences are flexible and useful for different circumstances.
  • Engages colleagues across departments and offices.
  • Provides engaging visuals that make progress rewarding.
  • There are too many levels for information entry under each task, so it can be confusing as to where details are saved and at a glance, a user might miss important information that has to be expanded below tasks to see.
  • The sidebar to move between projects is not intuitive, which makes it difficult to quickly navigate between projects.
  • It is not possible to customize the options for where a task stands, which would be helpful because "internal review" is not very specific and doesn't always capture the correct status, and then it requires writing out additional details below which can be easily missed.
  • Increased employee collaboration.

There are so many levels to use with monday.com that it can make the simple features more complicated than they need to be. The time spent inputting all the details requested can be a loss of time for the company and requires employees to spend extra time sorting through the information on monday.com. It would be helpful if some of the features, such as task lists, were offered in a barebones style to use so that employees do not get sucked into entering superfluous information.
I rarely have needed to use monday.com technical support, but my colleagues have always reported supportive customer service that provides quick responses. Any issues were always resolved within the day so that they did not impact the project's work and allowed the team to continue working fluidly.
I have found that the features of monday.com work as designed, however, they are not always intuitive systems and can require a lot of time and effort to set up at the launch of the project board. I have found that it is best to integrate monday.com at the beginning of the project and have one employee in charge of setting up the board to fit the needs of the project, and the time required to do so is high. This can often be problematic when a project is starting up and there are a lot of moving pieces. One helpful feature is that boards from other projects can be duplicated and edited to fit a new project, so if the project has a similar implementation plan, it can shorten the time it takes to launch the board.

I have found that monday.com is really helpful for tracking tasks in project management because it keeps a team updated on the status of different tasks, requirements, and sub-projects so that they can easily collaborate. It is really important so that items do not fall through the cracks. However, I have found it to be less helpful for tracking data for vendor billing or progress on a project, because often the data used to fuel this tracking is in an excel file so then it is an additional burden to enter it in to monday.com.
