Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

Within our team, we utilize monday.com to streamline congruent work processes that used to hit many delays when completed manually. Many folks worry that having automated processes takes the humanity out of the work, but this is actually counter to what we have discovered within the function of our team. Automations have allowed us to eliminate a high percentage of our communication gaps, which has actually strengthened relationships across our team. Automations have limited frustration, time wasted on tracking someone down, communication being lost in email, etc... Knowing that the next phase of the process will be completed without having to nag a coworker or worry about having to hold a leader accountable on a personal level has truly created ease within relationships in our work environment.

Pros

  • Streamline processes with automations
  • Provides visual indication of status on active projects
  • Creates visibility and accountability across the team
  • Easy to create reporting and dashboards

Cons

  • Personalized color choices beyond the available color pallete
  • Explanation of column types for less inclined users that occur right within the app
  • Granular privacy controls in Pro, rather than being exclusive to Enterprise
  • Immense amount of time has been saved by having one source of truth shared across our entire team
  • Employee adoption has been slow, but steady
  • Saved time resources of IT by not having to ask for custom development for forms
As the "monday.com" expert within our company, I have approached monday.com with the understanding that it can be as much or as little as we need it to be. It has been difficult to find ways in which its limitations kept us from achieving what we have dreamt of doing. I love all of the resources that have been available to utilize when tackling a new feature or a new board development or attacking a new workflow.
I think that there are times where my experience of the monday.com support has been good, but I have also experienced some short comings. I have been frustrated by response times as well as feeling like I received an inadequate amount of insight and knowledge. There have been several times I walked away from my experience without my question answered.
As a whole, my experience within monday.com has been incredible successful. I have appreciated the ease with which I have been able to achieve more productive workflows and structures of support for our team.

monday.com is well suited for repeatable processes - i.e - streamlining workflows where a request form can be used to provide consistent information for project requests. Having inputs to clarify the information someone wants to include, setting deadlines, and then informing the person who needs to be working on the project, while also creating visibility for supervisors to know the flow of requests being pushed to their team members.

It can be more difficult when there are vast variations from project to project without consistency. While it can still be utilized, it doesn't make it as clean and clear as other use cases.
