Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

We mainly use monday.com for auto-updating calendar features (to represent data across multiple venues and event statuses), and to organise and schedule promotional rollouts. We also use monday.com to keep track of spreadsheet data and archive information.

Pros

  • Calendar view
  • Customisation
  • Scaling / archive capabilities
  • Automations

Cons

  • Improved mobile view options
  • De-bug timed items (which can disappear when mirroring on another board)
  • Text cursor automatically flashing for update boxes, rather than requiring a second click (eg. when opening the pop up for linked files)
  • Increased employee adoption
  • Improved deliverable frames for employee tasks
  • More sophisticated and detailed project scheduling
  • Provides evidentiary layout of projects in realtime for clients
  • Customisable and exportable spreadsheets for data representation
monday.com is highly intuitive, highly customisable, and encourages ingenuity to suit one's own workflow and needs. Experimentation with features of monday.com is rewarded by the application of the software improving with use. In the 24 months we have used Monday, it has escalated from essentially a listing interface, to a full scale calendar, scheduling, planning and archival hub. It has galvanised the new, flexible office work dynamic and makes status reporting and information sharing from remote work locations easy.
I do not manage our monday.com business account, and have not needed to interact directly with customer support. The product update information has been satisfactory, as well as the in-program update prompts.
All features generally work the way they were intended, with the exception of sporadic bugs. Eg., the time widget on items and subitems, when relayed / mirrored to a second board, can sometimes reset the time to default settings. Some automations are slower to work than others - again, mostly concerning actions which take place between two boards simultaneously. In general, important features like the calendar and customised boards for project overviews and scheduling work very well.

Do you think monday.com delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with monday.com's feature set?

Yes

Did monday.com live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of monday.com go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy monday.com again?

Yes

monday.com is best suited to handling small to medium-sized teams working both together and remotely. Information can be relayed and mirrored in multiple formats and different interfaces, which is particularly handy when working with a diverse client base who want to receive the same services. It is easy to use and easy to customise to suit changing needs.

Where monday.com's services become strained is when servicing much larger teams, as the margin for error on the interface is increased with more hands inputing data. More options for failsafes would be an improved feature, eg. a more sophisticated auto-save feature and an undo-button tied in with keyboard commands), but bugs are rare in the day to day use and only become apparent on more long-haul / large-scale usages of the product.
