Use Cases and Deployment Scope

MS SharePoint is used by our Coalition as the primary source of storing and sharing files with the Office of Early Learning.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Secure exchange of sensitive information
Ability to upload multiple documents at a time
Collaboration and Group Sharing

Cons

The use of dashboards is something that I experienced some difficulty with, but that could be solved with additional training

Return on Investment

It saves time and allows for the secure transmittal of information with our major funder.
Our ROI would be larger if we were to a point where we fully utilized SharePoint

Alternatives Considered

Citrix ShareFile

ShareFile is very easy to use for uploading and downloading files, but it doesn't have all of the capabilities that SharePoint does.

Other Software Used

ETO by Social Solutions, Microsoft Office 365, Abila MIP Fund Accounting

MS SharePoint has lots of capability and can be a great tool if you commit to using it to its full potential. Works well with multiple office locations and departments, but is probably not as needed for small businesses.
