Overall Satisfaction with MS SharePoint
We used SharePoint to migrate from Google Drive and Dropbox. This decision was made with hopes for seamless integration of platforms and products under one database. While there were many benefits to having Sharepoint active and connected to other tools, it was often slow, and the overall interface is outdated.
Pros
- Team integration.
- The diversity of platforms/breadth of tools.
- Familiarity with legacy tools.
Cons
- Auto-saving.
- Interface and fonts.
- Working within the browser instead of exporting to Powerpoint.
- Made processes a lot longer than they had to be -- slower platform and lagging.
- Positive for team collaboration and auto-saving.
- Working offline in Powerpoint is more efficient than working within SharePoint.
I think that Google Drive is much faster and more efficient than working in SharePoint. I understand that the benefit of using SharePoint is the integration of other MS tools such as Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc. However, these tools all work more efficiently offline rather than working in the browser.
