Why NetSuite should be considered for an ERP solution.
Overall Satisfaction with NetSuite
We use Netsuite across our entire organization for financials, inventory, order processing, manufacturing, CRM and our e-commerce site. I like having everything integrated and the real time reporting and dashboard KPI's has made a major difference in decision making.
Pros
- Financials - A/P, A/R, GL. Netsuite started as a financial package so I feel it is still the software's core strength.
- Integration of information - all modules work seamlessly and there are no module updates that need to be made for accurate reporting.
- Kitting & manufacturing - most of our products are combinations and assortments of other items that we carry and Netsuite handles inventory tracking through all phases very well, utilizes multiple unit types and updates from sales or work order builds. Inventory allocation for these items is very accurate.
Cons
- E-commerce module could have more modern features that come standard with other carts such as automatic eBay/Amazon listings, blog integration and SEM integrations.
- Saved searches and custom reports could be made easier for people that do not have computer science or programming backgrounds.
- Sales orders should be able to be sorted by warehouse location.
- Order processing could be made simpler by adding a Bill/Print Invoice button on the order fullfillment screen.
- A simple POS store option should available without purchasing a very expensive separate module designed for companies with multiple locations.
- Very positive impact! Our old accounting system needed constant day to day maintenance between modules to get accurate reporting. Manufactured items were not calculating costs correctly so reports were never accurate.
- The cloud based platform has save me SOOOOOOOOOOO much time not maintaining servers, workstations etc. Adding users and work stations are as simple as just having a computer with internet access.
- Dashboard reminders really help me keep track of everything going on (or going wrong) within our organization. Problem troubleshooting is much easier with Netsuite.
Netsuite is much less expensive than SAP and easier to implement and use.
I have not seen the Quickbooks enterprise edition - we upgraded from QuickBooks Pro and Netsuite handles multiple users much better than QuickBooks did 6 years ago.
BigCommerce has more ecommerce features but does not handle financials at all or as well as Netsuite so a separate accounting system is necessary if using BigCommerce instead of an integrated package like Netsuite. Ditto for Shopify Plus.
