Overall Satisfaction with New Relic
We used New Relic primarily for monitoring the performance and the health of our apps and infra. It helps us keep track of key metrics like response times, error rates and throughput. New Relic solved visibility for us, we can quickly identify issues in production, understand where the bottlenecks are, and take action before users are affected.

- user interface, sometimes it is overwhelming or unintuitive, especially for new members. Finding right dashboard or digging into specific traces often takes a few more clicks
- We also noticed that setting up custom dashboard and queries using NRQL has a bit of a learning curve. Some more visual builders or templates would help bridge that gap
- Lastly, pricing can become a concern as usage scales. It's not always easy to predict costs, and it sometimes feels like we have to be strategic about what we monitor closely vs what we leave out
- In terms of numbers, 30-40% drop in the average resolution time for production incidents
- It's also improved out development velocity. Devs spend less time chasing down performance issues and more time building features
- Out SREs and engineers use the data from New Relic to proactively optimize performance, which has helped us reduce infra costs by identifying inefficient queries
New Relic has been a game changer for us. Being able to see everything from FE performance and BE services to infra and 3rd party dependencies, all in one place has drastically improved how we monitor and manager our systems. One of the biggest impacts has been on our incident response process.
Yes, NR played a key role in reducing migration risk and accelerating our cloud adoption. During our destination from on prem to the cloud, having consistent monitoring before, during and after the migration gave us the confidence to move faster without flying blind. we were able to baseline performance metrics on our on prem systems and then compare them in real time as services were migrated.
Our devops team has seen significant benefits from nNew Relic's capabilities. It's become a core part of our department and deployment workflow, helping us strike the right balance between speed and stability. The dashboards have been especially valuable during and after deployments. We use them to monitor key performance indicators like response time.
New Relic stood out to us primarily because of its all-in one approach, combining APM, infra monitoring, logs and alerts in single platform. Compared to other tools we evaluated, if offered a smoother on boarding experience and required less stitching together of different services to get a full serviceability setup.
