Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Notion to write all of our standard operating procedures for our agency. We have different areas for each department documenting the processes for each service and product type. This is a company wide endeavour that the whole team uses to support their roles, both in onboarding and staying up to speed.

Usability

Overall Notion is great, depending on what you want to use it for. Online users say you can use Notion as a project management software or a CMS which I wouldn't recommend as a long term endeavour. It does not have great notifications or ability to calculate data in highly complex scenarios so it is not fit for purpose here. Also, no time tracking features. However, very positive review as a note taking and SOP tool.

Alternatives Considered

OneNote, Google Drive and Milanote

Notion provides the most organisation by way of being a "digital brain". The other softwares (i.e. OneNote, Google Drive, Milanote) aren't as robust in the organisation of these documents and the levels of managing files and pages. Notion feels like a communal digital notebook which we love and is exactly what we need to allow us to create SOPs

Likelihood to Recommend

Notion is an excellent tool for agencies or small-medium companies who need to document processes, products and procedures. It provides very good flexibility for different content types. It's also great for marketers who want to draft content and have it reviewed as it has good commenting softwares. It's an excellent tool for team wide use
