Overall Satisfaction with Notion

I've used Notion on and off for years to keep my marketing business organized, and help clients understand project scope, progress, and deliverables. I also use it to organize contractors and keep people aligned with goals.
Notion's customizability is a big help, since each of my projects is bespoke to the client's needs.

Pros

  • Customizable
  • Affordable
  • Easy to share

Cons

  • Better how-to onboarding walkthrough
  • Walkthrough videos for most popular functions
  • Links can be glitchy
  • Allowed me to onboard several contractors and employees for a marketing client
  • Allowed me to make custom content management system for a marketing client
  • Allowed me to track project expenses all in one place
I rated Notion a 9/10 on usability because it's very usable for the right person - someone who's comfortable learning the ropes of a new system and has enough prior knowledge to create their own management system. However, if someone isn't as familiar with task management best practices or isn't into customizing a space, Notion might not be the best fit.
Notion is much more robust than Google Tasks, which I find very limited.
Notion is far more customizable and affordable than Asana, which is more of a turnkey solution for teams that want to work within a pre-defined structure.
Notion and ClickUp are comparable, in my opinion, in terms of task management and affordability, however Notion is the more customizable and expansive option whereas ClickUp is mostly just for task management.

Do you think Notion delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Notion's feature set?

Yes

Did Notion live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Notion go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Notion again?

Yes

If you want a customizable solution that can be adapted for just about any scenario, I recommend using Notion.
If you need a solution that's easy to share with people outside your organization, Notion is great and allows individual or team permission-setting.
If you want a turnkey solution, Notion might not be the best since it requires a fair bit of set-up. There are templates that can be purchased to handle this, but I haven't found them very helpful.
