Overall Satisfaction with OneCause

We use OneCause for our major fundraising events. It is used to check guests in and receipt auction purchases, raise the paddle donations, and miscellaneous charges throughout the night. It is also used for our weeklong silent auction. We run a weeklong silent auction where hundreds of people sign up and bid on packages. We collect between $500k and $750k through OneCause each year.

Pros

  • Online Silent Auction
  • Guest Registration and Check In
  • Receipting

Cons

  • Reconciliation
  • Integration with our Development Database
  • Better use with live events
  • Our events have raised significantly more funds since using it
  • People constantly ask what software we use
  • Our events hare known for being seamless
In my opinion, it's not the best when it comes to in-software navigation. The help pages aren't always super helpful for us, and you really have to take a trial-and-error approach to get it to do the right things. Once you know it though I think it really is great, but it has a bit of a learning curve.
We have had to figure out a lot of stuff on our own. In our experience, their help pages aren't always super easy to navigate. When you reach out to either your account team or the support team however they are quick to respond and want to answer your questions. I just wish we didn't always have to go to a person for the clearest answer.
In our experience, OneCause has more lift on the front end than Greater Giving. Especially since, in my opinion, the registration for a live event isn't of the caliber that I've seen from GG. But, if you can handle the registration and use a third-party tool like GivingFuel or RegFox from Webconnex, it becomes much easier.

Do you think OneCause delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with OneCause's feature set?

Yes

Did OneCause live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of OneCause go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy OneCause again?

Yes

The biggest thing about OneCause is that if you do your work on the front end with collecting registration information for live events, it creates a seamless experience for the donor from check-in to check-out. Collecting contact information for guests can be cumbersome, but it is worth it once it is all entered into the software.
