Overall Satisfaction with Optimizely Web Experimentation

Our Growth team uses Optimizely Web Experimentation for AB Testing purposes across all of our web surfaces.

Pros

  • Setting up audiences for AB tests
  • Build experiences through its easy-to-use editor
  • Tracking metrics & goals

Cons

  • Reporting is not as flexible
  • More complex tests will still require developers to be set up
  • Higher degree of certainty on the impact of changes that we're making
We use this on the Growth team at the moment, with the plan to do so more broadly across the org.
We've been running several tests in parallel across different surface areas of the user experience. The onboarding was a breeze and we had our test running within a couple of weeks.

Using the WYSIWYG editor was the easiest way to start building confidence and we got to more complex tests from there.

The reporting has been easy to share and have stakeholders follow the impact of the changes we've tested.

The tool is pretty robust and can be used for all sorts of experiments, be they simple element changes on web pages or more complex multi-page tests.

For more complex tests you'll need developers to help set things up, unless you can code yourself.
