Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM)

Orion is used by mainly just one department in our organization. A few different teams in that department all utilize Orion, primarily for similar use cases. It allows for easy alerting, monitoring, and helps with general network insights.
  • Alerting.
  • Great dashboards.
  • Scalable, you can control how much you do/don't monitor.
  • Could have more options for integration.
  • Learning the terminology can take some time.
  • Reduced time spent investigating.
  • Greater up time.
Orion had more capabilities that were a better fit for our specific business and monitoring needs. OpManager had some good capabilities too, but required a specific edition that has a higher cost (multi-site feature). This may no longer be a requirement, I haven't researched it lately.
