Overall Satisfaction with PagerDuty
PagerDuty is used to keep us notified about any incident that can occur in the infrastructure. We have different teams across the world in different timezones and PagerDuty helps to arrange the OnCall rotations easily. With different types of notifications (calls, SMSs, emails, push notifications) we never miss what's happening with our cloud resources.
Pros
- Different types of notifications
- Integration with monitoring tools
- Ease to set up oncall rotations.
- Intuitive user interface.
Cons
- Actually none. It is a great product.
- We haven't found anything so far that it needs to improve.
- There is nothing that we are missing.
- PagerDuty has all we need in terms of what it is designed for.
- Nagios and Icinga integration
- CloudWatch integration
- Slack integration
- It has a positive impact as using PagerDuty we get notified as soon as possible and we can jump in and troubleshoot quickly any incident. This helps us to reduce downtimes and comply with our SLAs.
Yes, we have benefited from the highly reliability PagerDuty has. As we offer a SaaS model on a multitenant infrastructure it is critical for us to get notified about any unexpected behaviour on the database and compute resources. We are confident that we are going to receive alerts during system and application upgrades and at any time during the day (24/7), and that we are not going to miss any client-facing notification.
This has been always a great asset for the organization, as it allows us to connect with the different tools that the team uses. One of the key benefits is that it reduces the response times against any issue that can occur, so we can work and solve them even before our clients can escalate it in our support portal. This helps us to meet our SLAs. Also, with the integrations we can keep a history of past events that are helpful to build incident reports and create additional documentation for future references.
