Overall Satisfaction with Pantheon

We are currently using it host our main website. As well, we are part of the Premier Pantheon Partner so our clients may decide to use Pantheon as their hosting system with preferential prices and better support. Currently, two of our clients have migrated to pantheon. Also, we use autopilot to keep our wordpress and drupal sites updated.
  • autopilot flow works fine
  • their support is incredibly fast and helpful
  • For now, we have had no downtime issues
  • Using live environment is a a little hard because the files cannot be modified via sftp nor git
  • not having access via ssh is tricky for those who are not used to ftp/sftp
  • autopilot instance have some issues with page builder's cache such as beaver builder
  • it limits the use of know plugins such as updraft or wp-rocket
  • Configuring a new project is easy, an existing one is kind of hard
  • it has reduced the time we spent fighting with the hosting's infrastructure
  • autopilot makes the updating process much easier so you save a lot of updating time
  • their support is great so you tend to have an answer fast and to solve your issues faster
Yes - - Linode: we had our main website there. We moved it to Pantheon and forgot about configuring the infrastructure and fighting with server's memory, overloads, unexpected requests, etc. - Acquia: one of our clients has their current drupal site there but acquia support system is not very good and the overal pricing is much bigger than the Pantheon one. They accepted to migrate and we are currently in this process
Linode is good if you want to keep control of the infrastructure, webservers, etc. However, if you want to forget about it and focus in your website content; Pantheon will make your life much easier. acquia support system is terrible, it is slow and they send outdated documentation to "solve" your problems. The change when moving the Pantheon is noticeable; Pantheon's support is faster and much better. They do not close the ticket unless you are sure the issue has been solved.

Do you think Pantheon delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Pantheon's feature set?

Yes

Did Pantheon live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Pantheon go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Pantheon again?

Yes

It work well if you want to forget about the hosting and the infrastructure and simply focus in producing content in your wordpress/drupal site. If you want to have more control in the files, webserver, etc it will not work for you. It is a great option if you are currently using hostings such as acquia or wpengine and are looking for alternatives.
