Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server
We use Parallels Remote Application Server to deploy legacy fat-client applications to our remote users. The applications are bandwidth-intensive, so deploying them in this way allowed us to provide access over a VPN and solve the significant lag and crashing that had been happening previously. It immediately added tremendous value and end-user satisfaction.
- Simplify access.
- Setup is easy compared to Citrix.
- Very stable and reliable.
- I honestly cannot think of any.
- Increased employee satisfaction.
- Reduced IT support labor via simplified roll out.
- Simplified upgrades.
Citrix Virtual App is a great product, but the rollout and management is significantly more complicated in our experience. We had Parallels Remote Application Server up in a day with no prep.
Yes, it was one of the primary reasons we deployed it.
We benefited from HTML5 support by allowing our iPad users that do in-person customer service to access an important application they couldn't reach before. It saved them from having to call another team when they needed this information.
Roadmaps with any real specificity tend to be no more than 3 or 4 years old. Having solutions that don't lock you in is critical to flexibility.
The security aspect was critical in maintaining our cyber insurance, which requires (appropriately so) high levels of security. We wouldn't have implemented Parallels Remote Application Server if it was not strong in these areas.
