Overall Satisfaction with Paycom

We use it for payroll and we use it for, it's part of our onboarding process as well. We use it for hiring and recruiting and background checks and all of that to make sure that we're taking all the proper steps that we need to take when we're onboarding new hires. And then we use it for PTO, making sure that people have enough in their bank, taking time off requests. We actually use it for PTO cash out and we use it for a lot.

Pros

  • So I feel like the user interface is great. I don't feel like you have to go through actual training to learn how to use it, cause I didn't. I've navigated it on my own and figured it out along the way, so I think it has a pretty straightforward user interface. I also like that the way that it stores information, like the repository because I can go in and look up people who have been gone for 10 years, still see their information within our system, and also someone who just started yesterday. And so I think the way that it would source data is great. We also use it to sign all of our company policies. and I love how we can audit that. And we also use it for our performance management process, so we do our reviews through that and everyone can go in and add comments and sign it. I just think it's pretty easy. You don't need a lot of hands-on training with anybody to learn how to use it

Cons

  • So one thing that I wish it had, and this is probably beyond even what it's used for, but something where you can use it to house trainings and policies. But if there was something built in where it would alert you when you need to go in and check the content of policies for updates and things like that, and it would alert the person who's in charge of it and have some type of way that you could track when the changes were made and who made them and those type of things, I think that would be great because right now we're actually looking at something like that to lend and to not have to go to another third party for would be awesome.
  • One thing that I wish that it had right now was AI integration. So that would be great, especially when it comes to background checks and just the screening process. If there was some way to automate that to where we don't have to go in and do it, or AI could do a portion of that through us working with the, and getting it to what we needed it to do, that would be great. But there aren't really many blockers though or anything that I would say it's not performing well for us right now.
So because we've had it for so long, I don't even have anything to compare it to. And then when we did the switch, I was not in HR at the time, so I don't know what they used, I know it didn't work out well for us. And so just because of that, since we've been longstanding customers with you guys, I don't have anything to compare it to.
It has definitely made it a lot easier. We just had a recent conversation about the I-9 documentation and ensuring that we're always in compliance with that and being able to get the alerts from you guys to let us know someone's paperwork is coming up on the deadline so that we can go and do our due diligence to get in front of it before that deadline passes. Those are the types of things that keep us in compliance and keep the work going without us having to manually remember to go back and check on it. So pretty good.

I would say it's well suited because again, going back to how easy it is to navigate, I also think, not even just from a leader perspective, using it when you manage people, but even as an individual contributor to see your own information, your own data. I just think it's just really easy to navigate that and we don't have people who contact us often needing help with that because they just know how to do it. So I think that's really important when you have a lot of people on staff where you don't have the resources to train them, but they have access to that on their own and it's just at their fingertips. I'll also say the other thing I like is anytime I've interfaced with or not engaged with you guys' staff, support staff or anything like that, they're always extremely helpful, like great customer service.

Using Paycom

Again, it goes back to ease of use, all of the different things that you can use it for. And I was just actually telling my colleague earlier, I think we're still only scratching the surface on what we can do with Paycom. So even the things that we aren't using it for and delving more into that so we can learn more about how it can benefit us as an organization.
