Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

I use it to onboard new employees, benefit selections/changes, and I use it a little bit for payroll.
  • The onboarding process is user-friendly, especially for the new employee.
  • I have found my benefits representative to be very helpful when I asked questions.
  • It took awhile for someone to explain to me what weblink was. I was approving benefits in bswift, but not seeing them in payroll. After back and forth someone told me that the approvals go to weblink to be approved again. I don't really understand why benefits need two approvals.
  • In my expeirence, the payroll department is not helpful. Instead of helping me, they like to transfer the question to another department or "submit a ticket." There is also no follow-up when a ticket is submitted by payroll. I am the one that needs to follow-up or I need to wait weeks to hear back on my ticket.
  • I would like to see the different departments work together better. Sometimes there are things that concern two different departments (for example, the FSA payroll report concerns spending accounts and payroll) and it is harder for me as the customer to get answers to questions or to correct issues.
  • I don't have any experience with this in the 2 months I have used it.
We don't use Paylocity for scheduling or time tracking- we use a separate program.
I work outside of the organization as a consultant, but I would imagine the community page has a great impact on employees. Managers are very good about leaving impressions for employees and recognizing them for jobs well done.
Another company I worked for used ADP Workforce Now. We did not use it for benefits enrollment, so it is hard to compare. I also had someone at the company that was thoroughly trained on ADP and could answer any questions I had. With Parallel, the employees that were most familiar with benefits was no longer there, so I had to reach out to Paylocity directly for questions.

There are a lot of things you can do with Paylocity and ways they can help your business, but the different departments within Paylocity (benefits, spending accounts, COBRA, payroll) don't work together very well and it creates more work for the customer.
