Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for Payroll, Benefits Administration, New Hire Onboarding, Time & Labor, and Learning Management Software. It's great because it has a Self-Service Portal for all employees to make changes to their employee profile, we can lock down time care punches to a Geofence to ensure employees are where they are supposed to be, and it makes payroll taxes a breeze.

Pros

  • Geofence locations to only allow employees to clock in and out from authorized locations.
  • Self-Service Portal - employees can update their taxes, direct deposit, benefits enrollment, contact information, and view check stubs all from their portal.
  • Benefits Enrollment - it's so helpful to have carrier connection feeds from Paylocity to our insurance provider so we eliminate the manual admin side of enrollment.

Cons

  • While you can access an account manager at any time and they are helpful, it would be nice to speak to your dedicated account manager on a regular basis.
  • EDI feeds for 3rd party integrations take an extremely long time to set up. 6-8 weeks to be assigned an EDI specialist which is entirely too long.
  • Would love to see a Retirement Services section just like Benefits, HR & Payroll, and Time & Labor
  • Positive ROI - HR department is able to focus on other things rather than just payroll or the employee cycle. I can't imagine having to calculate payroll taxes and manually calculate regular, OT, etc.
  • We are able to manage our employees more efficiently and keep track of important employee documents.
  • Better data-driven decision-making based on our workforce score and seeing in real time our retention and turnover rate.
Paylocity has saved us so much time with automating HR & Payroll, Benefits, Onboarding, Learning Management Software, and Time & Labor. We don't use Paylocity for talent acquisition because we had Clear Company integrated before they launched that feature, but it's a great software to have and I don't plan on switching anytime soon.
We haven't utilized the employee satisfaction or engagement tools.

Paylocity is user-friendly, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. The software handles our HR & Payroll, Time & Labor, Benefits, Onboarding, and LMS. I looked into switching with ADP because their sales reps are awesome, but I backed out at the last minute because I hate their software in comparison to Paylocity. No software is going to be perfect, but I'm pleased with Paylocity overall and they are adding new functionality all the time.
