Paylocity, overall, a good choice for a one-stop-shop HRIS
Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
In my organization, we use Paylocity to process payroll, house documents as our HRIS, process onboarding, use recruiting function, use performance management function, and the learning function. Paylocity allows us to use all of these features in one application.
Pros
- Integrate well with our vendors, such as 401(k), benefits, etc.
- Overall, the application is pretty user-friendly.
Cons
- The I-9 task is very bulky and clunky. There should be pre-filled areas such as name and company information that is defaulted so you don't have to fill it in every time. And there is always boxes popping up everywhere that makes it hard to fill the form out.
- I am not sure why but sometimes I will receive notifications to my personal log-in that I have to go and look at, instead of using my administrator log-in. Having it streamlined with one log-in would be better.
- Being able to delete a profile for an employee should be easier. For example, ADP lets you delete an employee profile as long as a payroll for that employee has not been run. Here, even the help desk doesn't know why you can't delete an employee profile sometimes, their answer, "if the box is able to be checked, then you can delete them." But what makes the box able or not able to be checked? No one seems to know.
- I wish the reports feature was easier to use. I have been in HR for over 10 years and used many different systems for HR and I can hands down say that this reporting feature is THE HARDEST SYSTEM TO USE. I have been here for a year and I still don't know how to use it. I finally gave up and made my own.
- The main page on HR and Payroll should have the ability to be sorted by date of hire and more abilities like that. The sorting of employees is fixed to only the data shown and some of that data is not useful from a sorting perspective. It should be more customizable. And if it is, it should be easier to figure out.
- Overall, it is a good application that is cohesive and easy to use.
I don't know anything about automation tools from Paylocity.
I have not used them. The survey feature is not user-friendly, and I do surveys using Microsoft Forms.
I have not solicited other vendors in the past year.
