Paylocity Review
Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We moved to Paylocity because we needed our data in one place. So we not only use obviously the HRIS side time and labor for time, time punching, but we also use it for performance and for rewards and recognition and it's a nice OneStop kind of place for employees and also for us to pull data. I use the reporting for DE and I reporting, so we get demographic data, and all sorts of things.
Pros
- The latest thing we've done is launch the rewards and recognition program or the module, and we've been able to show our leaders how to use the wallets to do the SPOT awards for their teams. We've also seen a lot of activity just with general employees posting thank you's and kudos and notes to their peers. So I think most recently that has had the most impact.
Cons
- I should probably say performance. Sometimes it can be a little bit clunky for the end users. Other than that, I think it's kind of hard trying to think of something that's not working well. This one's a bit of a tough one.
- I don't think there's anything that's not working. I think overall we haven't really seen any major issues, but I think just as things get updated and refined, I mean things will get better, but nothing really major that is a bad thing.
- I definitely would for time and labor it's been hugely beneficial because we have better and more accurate timekeeping and I think what it does is allows supervisors to be more aware of what their employees are doing, can fix mistakes quickly. So that I think has been a benefit. The other thing is just having our data in one location. The amount of reports I pull on a weekly basis, being able to pull demographic data for DE and i reporting and EEO reporting and all these different things, having it at your fingertips without having to mine through spreadsheets and things like that has been hugely beneficial and time saving.
So this one's tough because I don't actually use any of the time and labor stuff. It's the HR managers who do that. I think for them though, we've seen them be able to close payroll quicker just because errors are fixed faster, it's much more visible for salaried staff, and it preloads all your holidays. So it does make closing payroll on time and even faster, much easier for our HR business partners.
We use our community groups all the time and we set up community groups for our different employee resource groups. So the ERG leaders have the ability to communicate across the organization through the community groups. We do get a lot of activity on them, and a lot of reactions to things that are posted. So that has definitely been a huge benefit. The other thing on the rewards and recognition side is our executive leaders will take the time to go in and wish somebody a happy birthday or an anniversary. They'll put comments in there. So it does help with bringing the senior leaders down to the shop floor, so to speak.
We were using Paychex, so I'd say not necessarily really similar. I mean it was an HRIS system, payroll system, but probably not designed for a company of our size. When we looked at several products before we chose Paylocity, but by far Paylocity gave us more of what we needed. It delivered more of what we needed than other companies did.
