Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for all HR purposes (onboarding, promotions, etc.) plus time & labor management. Both of these were terribly labor intensive prior to Paylocity, and the process is so much easier now. I hope in the future that we can incorporate the scheduling and recruitment modules to help streamline those processes, as well!

Pros

  • Employee onboarding!!!
  • Time & Labor management, including days off
  • Payroll processing & setup
  • Customer service WHENEVER I have a problem - you rock on that!!!

Cons

  • Cautious about the new Payroll Run process, but it looks good so far
  • More productive due to less paperwork shuffling
  • New hires begin working sooner due to improved onboarding
  • More communication now that everyone can see days off in real time
  • All HR files can be accessed at any time by the corporate office
  • Payroll processing is faster due to the easy-to-use timecard process
Both the onboarding and payroll processes have GREATLY streamlined our HR activities. Onboarding can be done prior to the first day of work, which enables new hires to start work on the first day. In addition, the excellent customer service helps me customize our policies to make them work even more efficiently. I'm looking forward to incorporate the recruiting and performance tolls available to consolidate those processes, too!
We are currently not using these tools, but have been considering it. We recognize outstanding employees/accomplishments externally. We have discussed it previously & plan to explore those options, but those goals have been 'back burnered' due to more pressing issues arising. We plan to use those plus Recruitment tools to grow engagement.
It's extremely useful for nearly every step of employment, from onboarding to evaluations and/or raises to (eventual) termination. I know there are components we currently don't use such as Scheduling and Job Posting, which I feel would be very beneficial for specific departments. We also need to do better with employee recognition, and ensuring their training goals are being tracked & met.
Lathem Payclock (not in list) - strictly a timecard application. Ok for just that, but Paylocity far outshines them. It's much more comprehensive from onboarding to termination, and everything in between. No other application comes close, in our estimation. Paylocity more than fulfills our needs, we're able to exceed our goals.

As I said previously, New Employee Onboarding is now so easy - employees can complete the process before they report on their first day. No wasted time filling out forms - they can start work right away! Position or salary changes are also easier to process. A way to for managers to upload documents during this process would be a bonus, but not a show stopper.

Using Paylocity

50 - I am the only administrator, and I use it for onboarding & payroll processing. Most others use it for simple timeclock functions. Supervisors use it for performance reviews & changes in position, title, or wages. We also use it for benefits tracking, and plan to use other functions such as scheduling, equipment tracking, etc.
1 - I am the only onsite support, and I only perform local administrative duties.

It is truly the most efficient & organized HR system. Everything is easy to understand, the online help is very informative, and the support staff is always helpful & knowledgeable.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - Payclock - they couldn't do a fraction of the processing that Paylocity does.
