Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use it for all of our HR needs. We use it for all of our payroll, our timekeeping needs, and we use the community for social and recognition. We're using it for all of those things. We know that there's a lot of things that we can tap into that we are working towards because we probably only skimmed the surface for its capability, but just the insights that it can give you and that kind of information is really helpful.

Pros

  • Gosh. I mean I love the product itself.
  • I would have to say the reports are really easy too, and that was one of the deciding factors when we were choosing a new product. Just the ease of it.
  • If I had to say my one top thing, I really like the peak articles and being able to go out there and find not only things related to the product itself, but just general information around the topic.

Cons

  • I think the one area that I would like to see improvement in, which I think is actually happening, is the LMS. That is, it works, but I think there is capability to expand that, and I think that's in the works to make that more robust and have career pathing and that sort of capability.
  • Honestly, I feel like it's maybe a little too early to tell. We definitely have, just because of the efficiency within our department and cutting down manual processes of having to actually enter in information. The managers can go in and do a lot of that. So I guess that would answer the question in a sense.
From the efficiency standpoint, it has definitely helped us to be more efficient and with the managers having a lot of the capability that they have to go in and do things, it's keeping us from having to go in there and manually do things. We can approve it and move on. It's going to be there when we process payroll and we're good to go.
I would say probably the community. The community and the recognition is probably what we've seen the largest impact on with just employees being able to engage and that peer to peer recognition and just giving shout outs for things well done. We've built some different badges in there that employees can go in and recognize their peers and things like that.
I think there's always room for improvement in whether it's people or it's a product. There's always something you can do better, but I feel like it's very user-friendly and if you've used one system, you've pretty much used them all, but this one works really well and I'm very pleased with it.
Over the years I've used other solutions and I've been at the bank for a long time and when I went there we didn't have anything, so it was like we need to get something. So after looking at some embedding we went with this. But I have used various other, I've used ADP Workforce Now. I can't even think of the other names that I've used, but I've used others in the past. But I really like Paylocity. It's done really well for us.

We are a medium sized company. We work in a financial institution and a bank, and so for us it's just the right size and it is able to meet all of our needs. If you were a really large company, maybe not, but again, we're a medium and it works for us.
