Solid Payroll System
Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
Paylocity is used to provide payroll for a group of seven different companies. In addition to the provision of accurate wages to employees, they handle several business administration tasks - tax filing, child support, garnishments, etc. In addition, this platform provides accurate and timely information to employees as well as managers and accounting staff for additional recording.
Pros
- Tax filing
- Accurate payroll with thorough reporting
- Online access to both employees and staff for hiring and multiple other area
- Accurate deductions for insurance, garnishments, child support, etc.
- Elegant interface yet easy to maneuver, both for staff and employees
Cons
- I'd like to see a forum in which users could discuss the platform, raise both questions and concerns. I feel that changes are done without enough input from users.
- Improving hold time recently with customer service.
- Accuracy of new 'graphic' payroll report - the new report is not complete when payroll is done, so it is unusable from my perspective. I rely on the preprocess payroll register. This is one of those 'improvements' that have not been positive in my experience.
- Reasonable pricing for services
- Reduced and trackable errors
- Accurate and timely information to employees
Payroll has become a very simple, straightforward process. Information is submitted by managers, verified, and once entered, moves through the system without flaw. We have recently implemented time off tracking, which has reduced the number of questions, and therefore, managers time, to address employee concerns about time off balances, etc. We are also in the process of implementing a file transfer process that will greatly improve the time our managers currently spend in submitting payroll for processing.
We have used both the Community and Peer Recognition platforms more often over the past year. It has been helpful in the creation of specific groups to handle specific communication, specifically a group for our insured employees for notices of insurance changes, open enrollment, etc. Peer recognition has provided quick, accurate, and timely information for employee recognition.
We moved to Paylocity initially as a financial decision. We have remained with Paylocity because of accuracy and the supports provided. We have found this to be a complete product, and have discovered many additional features during our tenure that have been extremely useful. The interfaces available, specifically with Employee Navigator, have been a huge help in managing benefits.
